The Purina ONE True Instinct high protein low carb dog food dry recipes

This dry food has only two recipes, the real beef and salmon recipes, and the chicken and duck flavor.  They both have crude protein of 32%, crude fat of 17%, crude fiber of 3%, and moisture of 12%. I used a crude ash amount of 6% when calculating the amount of carbohydrates.

From my calculation, the amount of carbohydrate in both recipes are estimated to be around 30% which is lower than their other dry foods.

Both recipes don’t contain any poultry by-products meals, so they contain more whole meat which is very good for your dog.

They contain vitamin E, different types of vitamin B, and vitamin D which are antioxidants that help protect the immune system and enhance resistance against infectious diseases.

The two recipes are not gluten-free food, so if your dog has a gluten allergy, then you should ask your vet before buying it for your dog.

Glucosamine is part of the ingredients of these foods, it helps to promote healthy joints in your dog and can help reduce the risk of joint problems when your dog begins to age.

They have a good amount of calcium and vitamin D which maintains healthy bones throughout life.

The two recipes are not grain-free but the grains are in a small amount.

I gave the food to my dogs to taste and two of them seemed to like it but the other one did not like the taste, the texture and size of the kibble was okay.

Reviews

The calorie content for both flavors is about 3959 kcal/kg, 357 kcal/cup (calculated) (ME).

If your dog needs low-carb food and is okay with eating grains and gluten, then you can try the beef and salmon recipe or the chicken and duck recipe whichever one your dog is fine with

The eight-pound pack cost about $15.99 at the time of making the post.

These foods are made for adult dogs, not for puppies and if you have a pregnant or nursing dog, I suggest you ask your vet if it is okay to feed them this.

Purina One True Instinct wet foods

They are in different flavors and from my calculation, they are the Purina foods with the lowest carb content of about 15% and 40.99% protein on a dry matter basis.  Most flavors of this food have the grain-free version, if your dog can not have grains and the grain-free ones don’t have gluten, so if your dog can’t have gluten, you can try them.

They state on the can that there are no fillers which I could believe because they look much meaty than some canned foods.

They contain vitamin E, different types of vitamin B, and vitamin D which are antioxidants that help protect the immune system and enhance resistance against infectious diseases.

They have a good amount of calcium and vitamin D which maintains healthy bones throughout life.
