Best puppy nail clippers (10+ tested), so you don’t waste your money on trial and error

When my dogs were puppies and their nails started getting too long, I bought a couple of nail clippers before I found the ones I wanted.

I wanted something for puppies that was not too big but sharp and strong, it took a couple of tries but I got them.

Even after I got the one I wanted, I do misplace it, especially during trips and when I want to purchase it again they may be out of stock which would make me test another type and that is how I got to a few good puppy nail clippers.

Before we continue, if you want to clip your puppy’s nails with a nail clipper, you should know what you are doing, don’t just get a nail clipper. You should ask people who have done it before for advice and you can also ask your groomer.

In this post, we will be looking at effective and quality puppy nail clippers.

Safari dog nail clippers

I got the first scissors-like one when my puppy’s nails were still soft and not too thick, It was sharp and comfortable to use. When my puppy’s nails became thicker and stronger I switched to the other type and was as effective as I expected, I already had hope in it because of the scissors-like one I used first.

I like them because they were sharp and the handle had a grip that was not only no-slip but also comfortable. A good grip was important to me because one of my dogs overreacts a lot and would not cooperate with me. it locks closed when not in use.

Their heads are made of stainless steel and they have safety stops, the big puppy nail clipper is 5 inches by 1.5 inches, while the length of the scissors-like one is 5.5 inches and it is called the Safari deluxe nail trimmer.

Miller Forge orange handle dog nail clippers

Miller Forge orange handle puppy nail clippers

This nail clipper was recommended to me by people on Reddit and I was not disappointed. It has sharp stainless steel blades, I liked the way the spring works, and the handle is no- slip, I had all the qualities I wanted.

I am sure you might be wondering why I am recommending the orange handle. Well, dog owners on Reddit told me that different colored hands have different strengths and sharpness.

most of them recommended the orange handles but some of them said the ones with red handles are equally as effective or even more effective than the red handles but I am good with the orange handles.

Epica puppy nail clippers

I enjoyed using this for my dogs when they were puppies. Although I use the bigger size for them now because it is great.

The steelhead is of good quality; sharp and strong, the spring is okay, it has a safety guard, the handle has a secure grip and it locks closed when not in use. I just love it.

Dremel 7300 –PT

This is not technically a puppy nail clipper, it is a nail grinder and it is for those who don’t feel comfortable using the nail clippers on their pups.

This can be used to file it down fast. It is rechargeable, it is light and you can control the speed at which the head moves. They grind through the nails fast and you can change the grinding drums.

This is also a nail grinder, it is really easy to handle, it uses 4 AA batteries, you can control the speed, and it has an adjustable safeguard that you put your pup’s nail through so that you do not cut much of the nail accidentally.

Note: The manufacturers can change the materials used, the quality, or the design, so you should also check the products before you buy.

Also if you are clipping your dog’s nails and they bleed, you should apply a kwik stop powder, it would help with the bleeding.
