Best puppy leashes I used when my dogs were young

When I first had my puppies I experimented with some leashes before I found some leashes that were suitable for them. It is painful when I buy one and it does not work, then I remember the money I wasted.

But I had to keep trying because I was doing it for my fur babies, through research and recommendations I was able to find the right ones.

PUPPY Leash

I planned to recommend more leashes but the ones in this post are the ones still available from the time I used puppy leashes.

Some puppy leashes that worked well for others didn’t just do it for me and I would like you to know that some of these leashes that worked for my puppy may not sit right with you or your puppy.

But with 2 or 3 tries you would find the one good for you, you might be lucky I get it on your first try.

Standing Stone Kennel easy lead

Standing Stone Kennel puppy leash

This is a simple leash I got from Standing Stone, Standing stone is a business that sells dog gear and other supplies and they are also into dog training.

This puppy leash is made from poly-coated nylon cording that does not tangle or bind, I got to choose from a lot of colors, I had to choose between stainless steel or brass hardware, and they have the regular size which was 4.5 feet, and the XL which was 6 feet.

The leash is made in the US and comes with a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing.

CSJ Creations biothane waterproof puppy leash

CSJ Creations biothane waterproof puppy leash

The CSJ creations are on Etsy and they sell customizable leashes made with biothane, It would be a good puppy leash. Biothane is waterproof, odor-proof, and easy to clean. i have a harness and a long line from them.

I got to choose from various metals for the hardware (choose a light metal so it won’t be heavy for your puppy), the length ranging from 5 feet to 10 feet, the color of the middle of the leash and the end of the leash, and I could also add some instructions I wanted them to follow.

The leash has two fixed o rings and an o ring with slide stoppers that float between the fixed rings, the slide stoppers help adjust the leash to the desired length.

Hi & Light lightweight dog leash

This is a simple and light puppy leash, it is made of polyester, I can’t really tell what metal the hardware is made with but I think it is steel.

I could fit it in my pocket and that is why I liked using it anytime our outing required 2 different leashes.

It has a light and strong lockable Crux Clip to prevent your puppy from getting loose accidentally. There was no option to choose from different lengths, its length is 4.5 feet and the width is 6 in.

I used to use a glove with this leash because whenever my puppy pulled it, it would hurt my hand.

EcoBark dog leash

I asked on Facebook for recommendations of recent puppy leashes and this was a common recommendation so I decided to check it out.

When I checked on Amazon, there were no length options to choose from, the only length available was 5 feet.  The width of this leash is 3/4in, it has an O-ring, the clasp is strong, it is reflective, and you could put it in the washing machine.

From the feedback I got from the users, I see some downsides about this leash. Some said it is not that reflective, and it is not good for puppies that are hyperactive and too rough.
