I go hiking with my dogs a lot and we usually pass through shallow which makes my dog’s harnesses get wet and they start to smell and pick up some dirt. I was not comfortable with it so I had to find a solution.
While I was doing research, the thought came to mind, “Since I have a waterproof long line for my dog that is made of biothane, won’t there be waterproof dog harnesses made of biothane?”. Luckily for me, when I checked there were.
The only problem left was to find out the best ones, I usually have this problem whenever I am trying out new dog gear but as usual I got advice from Facebook and Reddit and after a few trials I found the ones.
So in this blog post, we will be looking at the waterproof dog harness I consider best.
Trinkety Paws waterproof dog harness
Trinkety Paws has a store on Etsy and after a lot of recommendations, I decided to get a waterproof dog harness from them.
I loved buying it from them because I got to customize a lot of things.
Aside from girth measurement and hardware options, I got to choose the chest & girth color, back and belly strap, and a few tweaks I wanted to be made.
I also had to give them my dog’s girth circumference, shoulder blades to the top of girth, top of shoulder circumference, and breast bone to the bottom of girth.
They don’t accept returns and exchanges, my order arrived in the next 9 days and I think they deliver to countries aside from the US and the UK.
HelpingK9s waterproof dog harness
This is another successful harness purchase I made from Etsy and I was able to customize a lot of things. This was a recommendation from Facebook.
Aside from the size and hardware, I could choose the primary color and secondary color, I also had to give them the back measurement, girth measurement, neck measurement, chest measurement, and dog breed and size.
Returns and exchanges are accepted only within the first 14 days.
Redline K9 biothane harness
Redline K9 is a business that sells dog gear and stuff so I decided to get from them. Their biothane harness is good and sturdy, it comes with a removable neoprene-lined breastplate.
I got to choose the color and size but I was only able to choose one color and I could not choose the hardware I wanted It was made of stainless steel though.
The thing I noticed is that when I ordered a larger size waterproof harness the price did not increase but when I bought the ones from Etsy, as I selected a bigger size the price increased.
I prefer the ones from Etsy though because they have more customizable options.
Backwoods Dog harness
Backwoods Dog is a Canadian-based small business but they ship to the US. I heard their waterproof dog harness is durable so I decided to try it out, I wanted to have enough quality harnesses in my home.
Apart from the size and color, I could also choose what kind of hardware I wanted and the price did not increase with the size.
It is a Y-front waterproof harness, the biothane material is 1 inch wide, it has 2 heavy-duty quick-release buckles, 1 inch welded D-rings and it can be adjusted from 4 places.
I did not pay for shipping because I bought 3 harnesses, they have a return policy but I read that all except warranties or defects would be returned at my expense.
Signature K-9 biothane harness
One time when I travelled to see my cousin, I brought the wrong size of harness for the dog I went with so my cousin ordered this from Amazon.
I was not expecting much from it but I was durable than I expected.
I checked on Amazon and I saw there were not many options when it comes to size but it was adjustable and it only had one color which was black.
You also cannot choose the hardware but the rivets are well-made.
